AES (Advance EDI Support) - Terms & Conditions

The following is an overview of the main terms and conditions relating directly to the provision of the AES service from AdvanceFirst Technologies Ltd. The full T’s and C’s can be viewed when purchasing the AES membership or upon request: -

  1. EDI back-up/insurance is included as part of the AES subscription. The full procedure relating to the process can be seen in information provided on this website but if there is any doubt as to the process or procedures involved please call AdvanceFirst on - 01932 230024.

Charging

  • Each time the EDI backup process is invoked a charge equal to the annual subscription (currently £100) will be made.
  • An additional charge equal to the annual subscription will be incurred for each day that the emergency back-up service is required/active until the client’s normal route for receiving orders is fully operational and our services are no longer required. - NB - to date no-one has required our back up services for longer than 2 days.
  • The emergency back-up procedure (collection and delivery of orders) can only be undertaken a maximum of four times in one day for no additional charge.
  • More frequent collections can be made but at an additional cost of £50 per collection.

Guarantees / Liability / Consequential Loss

  • AdvanceFirst Technologies can only guarantee we will make “all best efforts” to retrieve and deliver documents as soon as we are able and by whichever route our client requires. From time to time it may not however be possible to either access your orders (if there is a Tradanet outage for example) or deliver your orders via the agreed primary route if there is a communication failure. AFT reserve the right to deliver your orders by another suitable route should this be the case.
  • AdvanceFirst Technologies cannot accept any responsibility for any related consequential loss as a result of a failure to undertake the emergency back-up process successfully, but would provide a full refund of the annual subscription should this be the case. To date we have never failed to execute this procedure successfully.
  • AdvanceFirst cannot accept any liability for any loss of data or corruption of data due to the execution of the EDI backup/insurance process.

Eligibility

  • Initially the AES offer is only open to users of the UK Tradanet service currently operated by GXS. It is hoped that we can expand the service to clients who use other EDI VAN’s very soon.

Other Services include under the AES scheme

  • Free use of an AMMX (Advance Managed Message eXchange) windows client for secure auditable file exchange (EDI VAN replacement technology). For more information on AMMX or to download your free client please go to www.ammxtech.com or click through from www.advancefirst.com.
  • No charge will be made to subscribers to the AES service for the use of the AMMX client so long as you remain a subscriber to the AES service. Terms and Conditions that cover the use of the AMMX client can be viewed when downloading the client. AdvanceFirst reserve the right to make a charge for the AMMX client if appropriate at some point in the future, but all users will be given at least one months notice should this be the case.
  • AES subscribers will also be given free entries on the global AMMX directory – www.ammxdirectory.com
  • If clients wish to obtain a Java client for all platforms other than windows, or would like to discuss the provision of an AMMX server then please contact us on 01932 240024.
  • The Annual EDI audit/review is not compulsory, will be carried out on an agreed date, will be undertaken by an AdvanceFirst employee and is designed to offer guidance as to how our clients may improve their current EDI/Managed File Transfer/Systems Integration operations and where possible introduce them to the latest technologies available.
  • EDI Technology Newsletters will be targeted for release on a quarterly basis, but this is not guaranteed and may change subject to the convenience of AdvanceFirst Technologies.
  • Technical Education Days (TED’s). AdvanceFirst currently hold TED’s for clients on a regular basis. These again are not compulsory and are not held currently at regular intervals. The main subject of TED’s is currently EDI/XML Mapping but it is planned for more subjects in the future. We would aim to invite each client on at least one TED per year but depending on the numbers and cost involved this cannot be guaranteed.

It is the intent that the current services offered under the AES umbrella will be added to in months and years to come. Please make regular visits to this website to keep abreast of any new support services we are adding to AES.
